What it could be: Education should have two things: first to show knowledge in reading and writing, language and mathematics, and so on; second, to create mental habits to think and learn the material and gain more knowledge and to be able to assess the situations or circumstances.

What it is: I think that education is definitely about creating or making mental habits to think and learn the material because it definitely helps you gain knowledge and understand more materials instead of being lazy and not paying attention to the materials. To show your knowledge in all of those categories is also important so that teachers can understand where you are and teach you the things you need to learn. Then you are able to assess situations and circumstances and gain knowledge by thinking in depth about what it really means.

The top three characteristics for a successful SPA alumnus are intelligence, clarity, and responsibility. In my opinion you need to be intelligent to get through life, like getting through school being able to pass tests and quizzes, or anything that requires intelligence. People need clarity to be able to tell people what they want; to vocalize what they need in life. If someone is not clear about what exactly it is that they want then they are not going to get it and they are not going to be satisfied with what they do get in the end. Responsibility is also another top characteristic because to be successful you need to be honest with yourself and everybody else and admit the things you are doing wrong. Take responsibility for the stuff that you did.
I believe these characteristics are attained mostly by the successful adults in people’s life. The most common one would probably be a teacher. I think that most teachers are intelligent, clear about what they want and take responsibility for what they do. Ms. Ramirez would be a good example in my opinion because she always takes responsibility in front of her students and she is very intelligent and is outspoken. She is not afraid to be clear about what it is that she wants. These characteristics are attained by paying attention to people like Ms. Ramirez and learning by the things that she does.
Out of the three traits I believe that I possess intelligence because I am very smart and can do well when I want to. I think that if I learned to be clearer about what I want and take more responsibility in the things that I do, I would be even more intelligent. A lot of the time I don’t do well because I don’t feel like it or because I don’t explain to people what I want, like help with homework or something in that sort. If I was clearer I think I would become more intelligent because it all kind of goes together. If I got more help with my homework or stopped being so lazy I would learn more and understand the concept of what my teachers are teaching me therefore I would be more intelligent.
